Summer Fun Keepsake Box
Home » Scrapbooking
A gift box is the perfect place to store photos from a particular event or occasion.
Supplies:
- Plain paper or card stock
- Ribbon
- Sun die-cuts
- Foam adhesive
- Double- sided tape
- Eyelet numbers
- Eyelet punch
- Hammer
- Die-cutting machine and dies
Instructions:
- Step 1.
- Die-cut a box that will accommodate the size of your photos. The placement of the box decorations will be dictated by whether the photos are horizontal or vertical.
- Step 2.
- Poke a hole in the center of the box lid with an eyelet punch. Thread ribbon through the hole, taping one end to the top of the lid and leaving the remainder of the ribbon long enough to position all of your photos.
- Step 3.
- Decorate the box top with a coloured band , the title, and eyelet numbers to designate the year. The sun die-cut is raised with foam adhesive. The coloured band will effectively cover the hole and the ribbon.
- Step 4.
- Mat each photo on larger paper, leaving room to label each one. One paper can be left without a photo for journaling.
- Step 5.
- The matted photos are sandwiched together in pairs with a ribbon in the middle, leaving almost 2.5 cm of ribbon exposed in between to allow accordion folding of the photos.
- Step 6.
- Accordion fold the photos and place them inside the box so that when lid is lifted the photos will begin to lift out of the box.
