Painting on your pet's favorite ceramic water dish
Supplies:
- White ceramic food or water dish
- Template for pet's design
- Masking film
- Cutting mat
- Craft knife
- Sponge Medium and fine paintbrushes
- Red, white, black and brown ceramic paint
Instructions:
- Step 1.
- Photocopy the pet's template to fit the size of your dish. Lay the masking film over the copies and trace over the shapes with pencil. Cut these out with a craft knife and stick them to the dish.
- Step 2.
- Sponge the dish inside and out with the blackground colour, then let dry thoroughly. If the dish needs several coats of paint for even coverage, let each one dry before applying the next. Allow the final coat and dry before proceeding.
- Step 3.
- Carefullly run the tip of the craft knife under the edges of the masking film, then gently lift a corner of the film with the blade before peeling it off. The film should lift off cleanly.
- Step 4.
- Paint the markings with white, black and brown paint, using the shapes that were created by cutting out the features as guides. Paint a black line around the feature with fine paintbrush. When dry, bake in oven following the manufacturer's instructions.
