- Step 1.
- Photocopy a pattern and transfer it to the ceramic tile. Place the tile on a flat surface over a sheet of freezer paper.
- Step 2.
- Paint white glue over the one part of the pattern. Sprinkle the coloured sand onto the glue right away, before the glue starts to dry. Work on small areas and glue only one sand colour at a time.
- Step 3.
- Tip the tile and let the excess sand fall onto the freezer paper. Funnel the excess sand back into the container.
- Step 4.
- Work on to other colour, till the pattern are fill with coloured sand. It is alrihgt to start a new area without waiting for the previous area to dry.
- Step 5.
- When the glue has dried completely, coat the tile with a thick, waterproof polymer coating. Protect the bottom from excess drips by firmly taping the edges with clear tape before pouring the polymer coating.
- Step 6.
- Spread the coating where necessary with a glue brush. Be careful not to spread the coating too thin, or the surface will be wavy. You have about 25 minutes before the coating starts to set up.
- Step 7.
- Use a heat gun to eliminate the air bubbles.
- Step 8.
- Let the item cure overnight. Remove the tape from the bottom of the project and the drips will pop off. Remove remaining drips by sanding them off.
- Step 9.
- You can create a matte finish by spraying it with matte exterior spray varnish.
Note :Follow the instruction on the product when you mix polymer coating.
