Sparking Beads Ornaments

Austrian cut-glass beads combined with a matching beautiful shot-silk chiffon ribbon create a glittering riches, which will enhance your Christmas decorations. The beads are simply pinned onto a cotton pulp ball with the steel pinheads becoming part of the overall sparkling effect. If you wish, you can hang the spheres on the Christmas tree as ornaments.
Supplies:
- Facets glass or plastic beads, 5,, (4 in) in diameter
- Small iridescent glass beads
- Long steel pins
- Polystyrene or cotton pulp balls, 4.5cm (1 ¾ in) in diameter
- Silk chiffon ribbon
Instructions:
- Step 1.
- Thread one tiny glass bead onto a pin, followed by a larger faceted one. As well as being pretty, the tiny glass bead prevents the larger one from slipping off the pin as its
- center hole maybe bigger than the head of the pin.
- Step 2.
- Push the pin into the cotton pulp ball so that the beads lie tightly against the curved surface.
- Step 3.
- Continue pushing the bead-threaded pins into the ball. They should look evenly and tightly packed together in order to conceal as much of the white surface of the cotton ball beneath as possible. Leave a small circular space at the top in which to insert the ribbon.
- Step 4.
- Tie the chiffon ribbon into a small bow, trim the ends neatly with sharp scissors and insert a pin through the center of the bow. Push the bow into the space that has been left at the top.
