The variety of flowers, colours and texture in this topiary makes it a focal point of almost any room.
Supplies:
Container :
- Teea cotta bulb pot, 8" diameter. 4-1/2" tall
Flowers & Foliage:
- Curly willow stems, 20" long
- Silk flowers: roses, cornflowers, daisies, hydrangea, mognolia, and statice
- Assorted foliage
Other supplies & tools:
- Sheet moss
- Reindeer moss
- Knife
- Glue gun & glue
- Wire cutters
- Pruning shears
- Floral U-pins
- Plastic foam
- Duct tape
Instructions:
- Step 1.
- Cover the hole in the bottom of the pot with duct tape.
- Step 2.
- Using a knife, trim the foam level with the top of the pot. Glue in place.
- Step 3.
- Cover foam with sheet moss. Place reindeer moss around the edges.
- Step 4.
- Insert several stems of curly willow in the center of the pot to a height of about 18". Trim stems as needed with pruning shears.
- Step 5.
- Cut two pieces of foam about 6" long. Glue together to form a piece 4" deep. Bevel edges of foam.
- Step 6.
- Insert foam on curly willow stems. Squirt hot glue around stems.
- Step 7.
- Cover the foam piece on the stems with sheet moss. Secure with floral U-pins.
- Step 8.
- Starting with the largest ones, insert flowers in the foam on the top of the stems. Follow with next largest flowers, then the smaller flowers. Finish with filler flowers. Place the colours evenly for variety.
- Step 9.
- Add foliage for contrast and to fill the empty spaces.
- Step 10.
- Insert a small cluster of flowers at the base of the stems.
