Symbols at Christmastime are permanently etched in glass on these stunning holiday coasters.
Supplies:
Tracing paper
Pencil
Self- adhensive vinyl
Scissors, craft knife
4 inch squares of 1/4 inch thick glass with sanded edges
White vinegar
Spoon
Etching cream
Black permanent marking pen
White glass paint, such as liquitex glossies
Small paintbrush
Clear flat marbles or clear adhesive rubber bumper dots
Glass cement
Instructions:
Step 1.
Trace image onto tracing paper. Cut the vinyl into 2 inch squares. Transfer the design to the back of the vinyl. Use craft knife to cut out the design.
Step 2.
Clean each piece of glass with water and white vinegar. Dry thoroughly. Remove the backing from the vinyl design and place on top of th glass. Rub the back with a spoon to remove the air bubble.
Step 3.
Apply etching cream according to the manufacturer's directions. Wash off the cream and remove vinyl. Dry thoroughly.
Step 4.
Use black permanent marker to add in detail.
Step 5.
Use cement to apply a flat marble to each corner of the glass, or use adhesive bumpers.
