Shell Candle

Supplies:
- Selection of large and falt shells ( like scallop, or mussel shells)
- Paraffin wax
- Double boiler
- Wax dye ( optional)
- Primed wick
Instructions:
- Step 1.
- Clean and dry the shells. Make sure the shells have a level base, otherwise the wax will run out of the shell when the candle is burning. Shave its base with a metal file to create a flat surface.
- Step 2.
- Stick the shells to a baking sheet using molding wax so that they remain in a secure position while the wax is being poured in.
- Step 3.
- Melt the paraffin wax over a double boiler and then carefully pour hot wax into the shells, them right to the rim.
- Step 4.
- Once the wax has semi-set, insert a primed wick, trimmed to fit the shell candle. Top up with molten wax and leave to set for about 1-2 hours.
